FAQ

How bright is KOHAKU?

KOHAKU is designed for atmosphere, not harsh brightness. Think of it as a mood lamp rather than a task light. It's not designed to replace your main ceiling light
It gives off a soft, warm glow that gently lights the area around it — ideal for evenings, bedside tables, living room corners, and relaxed ambient lighting

What colour is the glow?

KOHAKU's glow is warm and golden, with a soft orange tone. It sits around 2700–3000K, similar to warm evening light
Cooler white lighting, often used in offices or task-focused spaces, is usually closer to 4000–6000K+, which is much brighter and feels more clinical
KOHAKU is intentionally warmer to help the room feel more relaxed and atmospheric at night

Where does KOHAKU work best?

KOHAKU works best wherever you want to create a softer evening atmosphere — beside the sofa, on a bedside table, on a shelf, or in a cosy corner. It is especially useful in rooms where the big light feels too harsh at night.

Is KOHAKU best for evening use?

Yes. KOHAKU is designed for the moments when you want the room to feel calmer, warmer and less bright
It is ideal for evenings, winding down, watching TV, reading nearby, or creating a softer atmosphere before bed.

What size is KOHAKU?

KOHAKU is compact enough for bedside tables, side tables and shelves, while still creating a noticeable warm glow in the room
It's 20cm (8") wide and 30cm (12") tall

How is KOHAKU powered?

KOHAKU is USB-powered and comes with a USB cable. You’ll just need to connect it to your own USB plug adaptor or any suitable USB power source

Is the bulb included?

Yes. KOHAKU comes with a built-in LED light

How do I turn KOHAKU on and off?

KOHAKU has a simple in-line switch on the cable, so you can turn the glow on and off without unplugging it. Three brightness settings let you adjust the light to your preference.

How long does delivery take?

KOHAKU typically arrives within 5–10 days. Orders usually ship within 2 business days, and all UK orders include free tracked delivery

Can I return KOHAKU?

Yes. You can try KOHAKU at home for 30 days. If it isn’t right for your space, you can return it within 30 days of receiving it. To start a return, email hello@hausofyume.com and we’ll guide you through the process
